COMPARISON OF CONTAMINANTS REMOVAL EFFICIENCIES IN WASTEWATER USING CONSTRUCTED WETLANDS OF SINGLE AND TWO STAGES

Constructed wetlands are green technologies, nature-based solutions, that use phytoremediation for the treatment of wastewater studied in domestic, industrial, and agricultural uses products such as hydrocarbons some emerging pollutants. The objective is to analyze efficiency constructed removal heavy metals, nutrients phosphorus, nitrogen treatment. This study presents results contaminant from two types wetlands; single-stage two-stage, which determine their efficiency. COD, BOD, fats, nitrogen, solids others, showed similar efficiencies each plant, with ranges between 16% 95% relative pollutant analyzed. As a complement, concentration chromium VI, cadmium, total iron were reduced analized thlrough UV-VIS spectrophotometric method, three absorbance measurements metal, wavelengths 540 nm, 228 8 510 respectively, 62% 85% found VI removal; 43% 53% cadmium; 37% iron, according two-stage plants.
